I know it may sound a bit morbid but I think of death often. I thought I was the only one until I had a vulnerable moment and asked my friend Dave Brubaker on a recent trip to NYC. We both agreed that we have had some pretty crazy thoughts of dying and particularly dying early. Why? I have no idea!

I have often joked with my fiance that I feel that I am not going to live a long time and not be around forever. Jesus lived a relatively short life and revolutionized the world.

One of my favorite quotes is Death in me equals life in them” and during a meeting today someone quoted Bonhoeffer saying “When God calls man he calls him to come and die.”

This rocked me a little bit but I got excited and excitedly said “YES!”

Why be afraid of something that is inevitable? Why not embrace it?

Dietrich Bonhoeffer stood up to the Nazi’s because of his faith in Christ. He paid dearly for his stand.

A short account of the day he was executed:

Bonhoeffer was stripped of his clothing and led naked into the execution yard, where he was hanged with thin wire for death by strangulation.

The camp doctor who witnessed the execution wrote:
