What am I doing?
I have been getting this question a lot over the past few months and for good reason. The transition I have recently made does not make sense to most people. The word doing is something I have often wrestled with because it seems that we judge people and pursue relationships with people who are either doing great things or have done great things. Even when we meet each other we ask the question “What do you do?”
I feel like the main focus of all of my years of ministry has been all about doing. While it is true there is a lot of work to do the reality is when I look at the life of Jesus his doing flowed out of His being. He spent the first thirty years of his life in preparation for three powerful years of influence. Those three years were very potent because of who Jesus was when He entered those years in power. I believe that preparation always precedes power. The one word that I know God has spoken to me about during this season is PREPARATION.

I worked part time at his nursery picking, cleaning, and planting seeds and learning about the process that plants go through in order to grow, pollinate, and germinate. This has been a fascinating process. I am currently in the process of compiling all the things I have learned and will post them at another time. (this blog is not big enough for all that I have learned about God, leadership, and life through my time with Norm and the nursery.
Earlier this week I also was introduced and met with a entrepreneur from Bulgaria who has built and sold several multimillion dollar companies. His newest project is a travel company that will be focused on changing the world through exposing tourists to countries that are off the beaten path and thus boosting their economies and raising the standard of living. He has technologists from Apple, Google, and the largest travel company in America working with him on this project. It was an honor to meet him and hear his story of coming from a war torn country and deciding to do something to change his country and the world.
I have had a dream in my heart for many years start an adventure vacation company that would open the minds and hearts of tourists to the issues that are facing our world today. We are planning on getting back together soon to discuss how we may work together in some capacity. I had to hold myself back from dreaming and
